Our iPhones tell us how many calories we’ve eaten, how many steps we’ve taken and how much sleep we should be getting. But we usually leave looking after our skin to dermatologists and department stores. WAY collects data from your surroundings to send skincare tips straight to your iPhone.
"Your skin is too dry – use a facial mist," reads one tip. "Today’s UV index is seven, factor 35 sunscreen is recommended," suggests another. By analysing both the UV and humidity levels of your environment as well as the moisture content and oil balance of your skin, WAY gives tips and suggestions on how to achieve a perfect complexion. Place the circular, palm-sized sensor on your face for three seconds to analyse your skin and hold it in the air to do the same for your environment. WAY is targeting "busy, professional women and mothers" who want to save time where possible, and hopes the device will become a regular fixture in handbags alongside lipsticks and compacts. Priced at $99 – roughly the same as a single dermatologist appointment – is WAY a cheaper way to more personalised skincare?
